At what stage of pregnancy should I have my 3D ultrasound?

The best time to get your 3D ultrasound is between 28-34 weeks when we can generally get the best facial image. A gender check can be done at your request.

What factors determine the quality of my images?

There are a number of factors...baby position, amniotic fluid, baby's activity...because of these factors, we can not guarantee the quality of your images.

We will do our very best to provide you with beautiful images of your baby.

Do I need a full bladder for my session?

No, you do not need a full bladder for this session. However, we do recommend keeping yourself hydrated with water for the best results.

How long will my appointment last?

You can plan on about an hour. The actual amount of time being scanned is less than 15 minutes. The remaining time is spent going over your images...perfecting, printing, and putting both 2D & 3D images on your complimentary CD.

Do I need a doctor's note?

No, a doctor's note is not necessary. However, we do request that you are receiving prenatal care and have had a diagnostic ultrasound to confirm due date, screen for fetal anomalies, and any other issues related to pregnancy. We encourage you to speak with your physician/midwife about your decision to have an elective ultrasound. In no way is "A Look Within" used in place of a diagnostic ultrasound. We do not take measurements, scan for fetal anomalies, or determine due dates. You will be asked to sign a release waiver verifying prenatal care along with other mentioned requirements releasing "A Look Within" from any legal issues associated with this non-medical elective ultrasound. OB contact information is required for our service. Customer information is not released to anyone without your explicit consent.

Is this safe?

Over the past 40 years, clinical studies have shown that ultrasound technology does not cause any harm to mother or baby. Our cutting edge equipment is used in many doctor's offices and meets FDA standards. Questions & concerns about the safety of ultrasound can be answered by your physician or midwife.

Will my insurance cover this?

This is an elective ultrasound that does not replace your doctor's care. Therefore, insurance will not cover it. We only accept cash, money order, or cashier's check. No credit cards, debit cards, or personal checks are accepted. Thank you...

...We look forward to making this your best Look Within...
